Why Teaching Is so Important (for the Teacher)
Honestly, teaching is one of the most beautiful things you can do in life. It carries with it so many benefits.
As you may know, I recently started taking on a few coaching clients again, after about a 4-year hiatus. And I'm so glad I did. And my new Calvin Show is a great way to share some of my accumulated wisdom as well.
What's so great about it?
- It forces you to clarify your thoughts, your understanding, which will inevitably deepen your own understanding
- You get to experience the joy …
Are You Going for What You Want, or Nah?
Ciao,
Oh, boy. I'm a little hesitant to share this, because, (a) it's just embarrassing, and (b) I feel like I've shared enough music-related stuff recently, but here goes.
Sometimes it just seems like we have so much resistance towards what we really want.
Since I started playing the piano around age 9 or so, I've dreamt of a grand piano. And I've never owned one. Why? I'm not sure. Excuses are aplenty. Money. Space. Blah.
In 2012 while we were still living in India, I came across a music s…
You Can Now Use External Sales Pages with Your 1-Click Upsells
I've added the ability to use an external sales page for your 1-click upsells.
Just edit the upsell, and enter the URL of your sales page.
Then you'll get two URLs, one for the YES button, and another for the NO button or link. Add those to your sales page, and you're good to go.
Prevent Download of Individual Content in Space
You can now prevent download of individual videos, audios, or even images, within a space. That way, you can leave downloads on for the majority of content, but turn it off for just one or two pieces that for some reason you need to keep online-streaming-only. To do that, go to a content element in your space, click "Edit" and check the new "Prevent people from downloading" checkbox).
Also, you can now hide the Podcasting section in the sidebar without turning off downloads for the space as a w…
Resend Broadcast to Missing and Unopens
Now you can more easily than ever resend a broadcast to those that didn't open the first time, or to those that have been added to your list (or product or whatever), since the last broadcast.
Go to a broadcast that you've sent, and look in the right sidebar for two new buttons:
- Resend to missing
- Resend to unopens
Both will create a duplicate of the broadcast, with the same recipients, but with one additional twist:
"Resend to missing" will exclude anyone who received the first broadcas…
Triggers for Lists and Products Have Moved
Triggers for Lists and Products have been moved from the "Configuration" tab to the "Content" tab.
The reason for this change is that a number of people were using the triggers to give access to a space, and doing it wrong (ie. forgetting to remove access when they deactivate, and granting access to the purchaser rather than the participant).
This way, the triggers come after the spaces, so hopefully that makes it more logical to use the Spaces setting when what you want is to add a space.

A Change to the Way Broadcasts Give Access to Pages in Spaces
I've changed the logic around using broadcasts to release pages in spaces.
Until now, there were a couple of challenges with this, which basically came down to the fact that if the person wasn't receiving the email, they didn't get access to the page either.
That would typically happen in three cases:
- The participant has opted out of emails for this product
- The participant has turned on "Do Not Contact"
- The broadcast is sent to two different products, and the person is parti…
The Moment You Got Really Clear
Tell me. Have you ever had that experience that you wanted something, but it wasn't happening. Then the moment you got really clear on exactly what you wanted, it just happened?
Here's a story where I did this: After Burning Man in 2014, I really got into mixing drinks, "mixology", as they called it. I'd read 10 books, I'd started to learn the classics, stocked up on equipment, learn my way around the world. But I knew I wanted some hands-on practical learning as well, not just from books and v…
How Bryan Increased His Open Rates by 150%
Meet Bryan West from Fortress Learning in Australia.
Bryan's a simplieber. I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing him last night for our blog.

Before switching to Simplero, they were using InfusionSoft, and Bryan shared a couple of very interesting experiences regarding that:
