WHAT'S FRESH?
THESE ARE THE RECENT CHANGES TO SIMPLERO
Removed Google+ stuff ... it's going to the Google Graveyard
Ticket comments now show that the ticket status was changed, and tickets track their total time open and pending. Look for those and some more new columns available in the tickets table.
Use internal name for the products when managing your product catalog
Custom fields API
We've improved how our API handles custom fields, with documentation on how to update them, as well as more powerful ways to read the information. To help you find what names to use for the fields when using the API, we've now added that information to the admin interface. Go to Contacts > Fields, click 'Edit' on one of the fields, and you'll see the link that says 'Show field names for API'. It shows you the field names like this. In the process we've also added two new API endpoints, 'Get contact by ID' and 'Find contact by email'. See our API documentation.
You can now upload videos directly from the sharable link you get from zoom, the one that gives you a web page with the video, instead of having to hunt for the link to the actual video file. I have no idea if this sentence makes sense to you, but just try it out. -Calvin
Easily change the publish state on a course right there in the overview.
You can now hide a site page from navigation without also hiding it from the search engines. Or you can hide it from search engines without hiding it from the navigation.
You can now add triggers to raw list signup forms
Radio buttons on embedded opt-in forms were showing in a jumble
Conditional page sections
You can now hide sections on a page or landing page either completely or conditionally. See video walk-through.
Reorganized the list of actions for automations and triggers and other things, so that the most common ones are at the top: email, text messages, and tags.
Skip automation step when wait exceeded
If you have a sequence that sends an email per day for 10 days leading up to the start of a course. If someone joins 2 days before, you don't want them to get the first 8 emails all at once. You only want them to get the last 2. That's exactly what this allows you to do. You can now tell an automation that it should skip a given step if the wait time has been exceeded. So if they join the automation after the time that we'd want to wait until, then we just continue right along to the next step.
Added a trigger on products for when a purchase has auto-renew turned off or on. This lets you initiate an automation that attempts to convince people to stay in your membership before their subscription actually expieres.
Allow emojis in customer notes
You can now mark customer notes private, so other administrators cannot see them. This is helpful when using them to keep private client notes.
Use course internal name when you choose courses to add to the Featured courses section on a site.
Cleaned up how we show the triggers/steps that start an automation, and the button to add a new trigger
Improved the navigation and sense of place in the admin interface by making the breadcrumb be on a separate line from the page title so there's more room to show where you are in the navigation
Designed a great page section? Now you can 'Save as template,' and a copy of your section will be available to add to any of your other pages.
Landing pages can now have links in the header that jump to sections of the page. When editing a landing page section, push the menu button next to the section name to turn it on. Be sure your theme is configured to include the header, and that you have uploaded your logo.
Managing triggers is now easier. You can add triggers from the triggers table! You can also add triggers that start automations from the top of the automation steps.
The triggers table is now searchable, so you can easily sort through all your triggers.
Now you can include captions on your videos!
Move checkout form tracking code for the HEAD tag so it's AFTER the global tracking code for HEAD tag, so you can rely on things being loaded in the global tracking field
You can now see both triggers and other automation steps that start a given automation. Automation starters are shown at the top of the automation before its steps.
As promised, you can now give your course lesson media files names and descriptions. Click the pencil icon for the file you want to edit, and off you go.
Global coupon code entered now applies to order bumps and upsells as well.
Clicking the background outside a modal no longer closes the modal. The old behavior was a bit too aggressive. You could easily lose changes because you accidentally cliecked outside the modal window. Now you have to click either the Cancel button ort he little 'x' to close the modal.
Added triggers on signup forms, so that you can add specific tags or do other actions, based on which signup form was used
Replace table view configuration
When making your own custom view configurations (choosing columns, filters, sort order), you can now choose to replace an exising view, in addition to saving as a new view.
Cleaned up the column chooser in views a bit
Only show the drag handle next to columns that are actually displayed Limit the column chooser to the view height, and scroll inside it.
In Broadcasts, Preheader was listed in the 'Basic info' box, but could only be edited from the Body screen. That's obviously a bit lame. And fixed now.
You can now always log in using a 'magic' login link, that we'll send to your email, and which you can click to straight away log you in and get to where you were going. This applies to your customers as well, making it even easier for them to get to the content they're looking for.
Easier to get back into your Simplero account
We'll now show an overlay on simplero.com for returinng admins making it super quick for you to log into your Simplero account.
Don't load checklists until you click on the nub. That makes the pages faster to load when you don't need the checklists. If you do needi one, it'll load pretty darn quickly.
Automatically refocus on the 2-factor authentication code field after checking the box to remember this device
Likes in Membership Sites
You can now like blog posts, forum posts, course lessons, and comments in membership sites. If you prefer to disable this feature, you can do so in 'Configure' -> 'Community features' of your membership site. We hope you 'like' this feature!
Course lesson additional content
The way we displayed additional content on course lessons was a bit confusing. The filenames were kinda ugly and not terribly helpful, and they were too close to each other. Both of those have been fixed now. We WILL be adding the ability to add more content blocks on a course lesson, ie. more flexibility on how you structure your course lessons, but not right this instant. Please be patient a little longer.
Did a big cleanup of the Plan and Billing page, including around account activation
Order bumps now update to show the correct price when your customer selects a different currency.
Image editing is back!Edit images right in Simplero: make memes, doodle on your friend's face, or just fix that photo that got turned sideways somehow. Let us know how it works for you.
Color me labels
You can now pick the color when you create a new label to organize your stuff in admin. Go the table of anything that has labes .. lists, media files, worksheets. Check a couple rows. Click 'Add label', hit backspace and start tying to create a new one, hit enter, and you can now choose the color.
Made it possible to turn off auto-advance on testimonials sections on sites and landing pages. And defaulting to off, because it makes it hard for people to read ... as you're in the middle of reading one, it advances on you. Whoops! (Hat tip, Samuel Hulick for the usability point)
Link in the admin menu (top-left) for landing pages that says 'Edit landing page content' now actually takes you straight to the content builder
Show when a tag was created, to help you gauge whether it's still relevant.
MobilePay
You can now accept payments through MobilePay using a QuickPay payment processor. Enable MobilePay in your QuickPay portal, then go to your payment processor and check MobilePay under 'Supported cards'. Dive in while it's in beta and help us put the MobilePay integration through the ringer!
Sexied up the order bumps. They now look a lot more attractive, and you can add more copy to it, to really entice people to check the box. To get started, go to Product > Upselling, and click 'Add order bump'
Improvements to the email containing login information
The subject line now includes the name of your account, as well as the name of the membership site or product they get access to, so it's more clear what this email is about. It also de-emphasizes the Simplero ID part, and you can now add some copy of your own to the top of the email. Go to Settings > Product and look for the section named 'Login email'.
We don't like 404's either. Your customers will now reliably be redirected to the login screen instead of a 'Not Found' 404 page if they visit a course or course lesson that requires login.
Top-Right Call-to-Action
The top-right corner of your website is prime real estate for a permanent call to action (CTA). It is smart to put something important there. And now it's super esay. Go to your site, and choose 'Customize theme' in your admin menu in the top-left corner, and you'll find the option to add a CTA in the Header section.
