WHAT'S FRESH?
THESE ARE THE RECENT CHANGES TO SIMPLERO
Use a searchable drop-down menu for selecting values when filtering your table views
If a global coupon offers 100% off a price, don't ask for credit card
Added the ability to sort and filter tickets by their 'flags'
You can now receive emails for unrenewed and expired purchases. Find it in Settings -> Product -> Notifications.
Fixed bug that would cause an 'Unable to base a payment method on another payment method that has been retained' error from Spreedly when logged in user with a saved credit card came back to purchase again
Purchases now validate the qty purchased, to ensure there is availability for that qty and that the coupon (if applicable) supports that qty.
Cleaned up the screen for adding prices a bit, and made it so all prices are enabled by default, unless you uncheck the box at the bottom of the form when you create it.
Order membership sites by internal name, make room for one more row of cards when possible, added direct links to configure and pages, and made the site name a bit bigger so it stands out more.
Fixed that icons for PDFs, Audios, and other media file without an actual image of their own were missing on the admin side
You can now create a new support tickeut from a comment on an existing one. This is helpful when your customers respond to existing tickets with a totally new topic. It helps keep things organized into separate issues, rather than conflating everything into one.
Restructuring the main app menu, to make features more visible
If you or your customers are Polish speakers, you're in luck! Thanks to Aga Bera, Simplero is now translated into Polish.
Consolidated Settings for a Landing Page so we don't have settings both in the page builder, AND in the regular admin interface. Now they all reside in the admin interface, and the stuff that have to do with appearance has been moved to the Appearance tab in the builder.
When adding a list signup section to a landing page tied to a list, it'll now default to operate on that same list
Improved flow around creating new full themed landing pages for lists
Include triggers in the count next to Content in submenus for Lists, Products, and Affiliate programs
Adding tags to site members would fail under certain circumstances, now works correctly.
Global coupons applied to subscriptions will now reflect the discounted price in the schedule of payments, if applicable.
Blog posts in category view now always show up in the correct order. Broadcast email templates now have a more reasonable order, too. You could say there's a new order here at Simplero. -Joshua (aka, the new guy)
Show more of broadcast subject lines on dashboard, products, and lists. Thanks to Nick Hartmann for pointing this out. Happy New Year, people, we have one more developer joining the team to day. I'm excited. –Calvin
Updated some icons for our table view component, and fixed a bug that would immediately jump to a new view when clicking on a saved view that included a search query (or switching from one with a search query to one without)
For a few days, editing a published blog post would change its publication date to today's date. Sorry! Get in touch if this has messed things up for you. Hopefully not to badly.
Fixed that name for product participants in plural would always be set to English pluralization of the singular version, completely defeating the purpose of having that field for plural in the first case. Sorry for messing that one up, folks. Go pluralize in your own language now!
Delayed EU VAT number validation
I love that the EU can put strong penalties on us if we don't validate EU VAT numbers, yet not manage to keep their EU VAT number validation service running reliably. I guess we'll just have to deal with it. Now if there's an error talking to the VIES service, we'll allow the VAT number through, but not mark it as validated. Then we'll keep trying to conncet to VIES each ten minutes until we get either a yes or a no on that VAT number. We'll tell you in the admin interface what we found and when it was validated or not.
You can now search in the columns when choosing columns for your table views. This is super handy for something like purchases, which has a LOT of column to choose from. Just start typing to filter by your keywords.
Prettier stats for library emails, including a helpful little donut chart. Uhm, donuts! Sorry if I just made you cheat on your diet. I know a place here in NY that makes gluten free donuts, if that's any help...
Added three new columns and a filter to the Subscriptions table: Contact joined, Avatar, and Tags. And you can now filter subscribers by tags.
Reset visits for shortlinks using an action on the table
Show stats for emails in an automation right there inline in the automation, making it quicker to see how they're doing.
We've stopped using the smpl.ro domain in email links. Apparently it gets blocked because it's from Romania and there's a lot of phishing emails coming from Romania. As if Romanian criminals don't know how to buy a .com domain. Oh, well. We'll stop using it. (Still wondering how Bitly gets away with using a Libyan domain name.)
Tired of 'Segment 1', 'Segment 2', etc? Me too. Give your segment a name when you create it.
It's now possible to force an automation to always be run for the Contact object, instead of for the list subscription, purchase, participant, or some other contact-like object.
You can now filter your Contacts by all UTM parameters, both first (UTM params for their first visit) and last (UTM params from last time we saw them come from a link with UTM params on)
You can now choose your own confirmation pages for the automagic 1-click start/stop/pause/resume links for automations.
Added 'Done-For-You' templates
The icons for 'Star' and 'Unstar' on admin table views are now what you think they should be: fully filled-in star means 'star', and empty star means 'unstar'
Added support for LinkedIn in footer links for sites (finally!)
Fixed that drafts for site pages would sometimse get confused and offer a draft for a different page.
Show a preview of your membership site in site admin
Some themed landing pages had a list associated as CTA object, when there was in fact no list opt-in on the page.
Show on customer's purchase / manage payment screen if their current card is expiring in the next 90 days, and they have charges due.
When inviting someone to be an admin, if we already have a user with that exact email address, or if you enter their Simplero ID directly, we'll just add them to your account directly instead of sending them an invite they have to accept.
When a custom field has an option for 'Other', you can now choose a placeholder for the 'Other' input field
Moved the Template field for embedded opt-in forms up above the colors. Makes i ton more sense that way. Also, did you know that you can have your favorite HTML/CSS nerd develop your very own signup form designs?
Some embedded modal signup forms wouldn't always be centered properly.
Support 'Other' option in radio buttons field as well
Automatically get city and state/region from zip/postal code. For now, just US and Denmark, and Norway. If you can get us a CSV or similar files of postal codes for your country, we can add them.
Use the proper label for postal/zip code and region depending on country
Fixed that Floating Icons page section would use the default link color instead of the specificed text color when the link option was used
Check boxes custom field can now include an 'Other' option
