The busy mother of 4 who rose from working as a Simplero VA to becoming the team’s beloved Chief of Staff

Employee Spotlight! (3).png

Meet Deanna, who started out as a Virtual Assistant in a company that offers help to Simplero users but soon moved on to work in the Simplero support team.

And it didn’t stop there, because her very deep knowledge of Simplero combined with good humor, wonderful personal and organizational skills and a strong work ethic soon made it clear that she was needed elsewhere in the organization...

Earlier this year, she became the Chief of Staff. A title that is pretty hard to wear, one would say – as it could imply bossiness, but Deanna wears it with the utmost grace.  Everyone on the team is amazed at how she always manages to leave a chat or a meeting with a gratitude towards her colleagues so authentic, that one just smiles for minutes after saying “bye for now”.

How she manages all this when at the same time being the primary person for managing the kids, as her husband is a policeman who is often away… is beyond the rest of the team.

Some of it might be due to the strong coffee she drinks.

But surely, there is some magic involved as well.

Here are a few questions to and answers from her, to give you a little hint of her as a person...

What is your role in Simplero, and what do you do?

Everything ;)  Kidding... sort of.   I started out in ticket support a few years ago and still get to hop in to help every now and then.  Now I'm the Chief of Staff. I get to make sure all our team members are taken care of, help with logistics, make sure projects are getting done, ....

What brings you joy in your job?

I don't think there is just one thing... I love helping our customers see all that Simplero can do and help them with. It is so amazing to get to be part of someone's journey and meeting a need to simplify and let them do what they love to do and are passionate about.

I also couldn't ask for a better team.  I absolutely love working with these people. Our times together are amazing, and I'm honored that I get to wake up every day and work along side these guys!

What's on your desk?

My desk is often stacked with books I am in the middle of reading, kid drawings and half full cold cups of coffee.

What does leadership mean to you?

"The task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already." --John Buchan  Our mission should be to grow, believe, encourage and bring out the greatness in each other. Leaders build more leaders.  The world can never have enough amazing people.

Exercise or Meditation?

My days are pretty full and fast paced. I love getting to the end of the day and doing some evening meditation with my kids before bed.

Coffee or Tea?

No question... coffee.    Always coffee.

Anything else you want to share?

I live in Arizona.   My husband and I have 4 kids, ages 3-8.  That keep us busy!   I absolutely love my job and it has been such a fun adventure to learn, grow and get to help create amazing things here at Simplero.

I am pretty sure I could eat tacos every meal... forever.  My idea of a vacation is a week of sun and books on the beach in Mexico + more tacos...
