What is MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI tools to securely connect to external apps like Simplero. Think of it as a bridge between your AI assistant and your Simplero account.

Instead of manually calling APIs or building integrations yourself, MCP lets compatible AI tools understand what actions are available in Simplero and perform them for you — conversationally, without any code.

Frequently asked questions

What can the AI access?
The AI can only access your Simplero account after you approve the connection. Actions performed through MCP use your Simplero permissions and account access. Depending on the AI tool, some actions may require additional confirmation before changes are made.
MCP vs API — what’s the difference?

Both MCP and the Simplero API allow external tools to interact with Simplero, but they’re designed for different use cases.

Troubleshooting

The AI tool says it cannot connect

  • Make sure your AI tool supports MCP.
  • Check that the connector URL was pasted correctly: https://mcp.simplero.com/mcp
  • Confirm you completed the Simplero login and approval step.

The AI cannot access my Simplero data

  • Try reconnecting the MCP connector from scratch.
  • Log out and back into Simplero, then reconnect.
  • Check whether the AI tool still shows the Simplero connection as active.
